Four Acres and the snowing camel!

Hi folks, Waj back again,

Here's some good news on the holiday front. Dad's sister, Janet, has recently bought a lovely house about a mile from Dumpledale. 'Cos she doesn't want to move down from Sussex just yet, she has asked Mum and Dad if they will holiday let it for her starting this year. They are also going to donate the first week to Greyhound Gap to raise money in their auction. Link to the auction thread http://greyhoundgap.proboards35.com/index.cgi?board=1012008
A Calendar showing weeks available will be on our main website at www.littledumpledale.co.uk hopefully by the end of the week, when Uncle Matthew, our web manager, gets his finger out!

Let me tell you about the house. It is in a little place called Port Lion and has four acres of land, complete with fruit orchard. It will have about 1/2 acre of enclosed garden, but there is also use of a two acre paddock to the back and right of the garden (not shown in the photo's). Prices will range from £400 off season to £800 July/August. It has five bedrooms 3 king size and two sets of singles, one bedroon is ensuite with toilet and wash hand basin and there will be two sitting rooms, ideal for two families to share. Here are some photo's, sorry about the quality of some but it was peeing down with rain when they were taken!
Four Acres itself...........................

The patio area..........................which will be gaining a barbeque and hopefully some sun!
The gardens............ The enclosed bit will be to the post and rail fence at the back and the second line of trees to the right.

The lounge with gas fire.......................
The kitchen diner.............................
Bathroom with bath and seperate shower.........................
French doors from the master bedroom opening out onto the patio........
This will be the master bedroom, but they haven't furnished it yet.........
2nd bedroom downstairs.....................................
also with view onto the patio area...................................
The third downstairs bedroom will have two single beds but Mum ran out of memory, so couldn't take a photo of it. Anyway to the upstairs, the main bedroom which is ensuite............................
and finally the other upstairs room.....................................
As you can see it's a beautiful place and is also only five minutes walk to the nearest stony beach which has access to a public footpath ranging over 30 acres of forestry.
Now, bet you're wondering about the camel aren't you? Well, Luce has taken to rummaging round in young Jason's bedroom to find things to play with while everyone is at work. A couple of years ago, he was bought a stuffed camel from Egypt. So Lucy extracts the camel by standing on the bed and reaching onto his shelf, then proceeds to have a tug of war with Pheebs and Poppy and guess what it was filled with?
Yes, it was snow! So we had snow in January after all! Notice the three devil dogs who did the damage, including the one trying to hide on the bed at the end of the corridor!
Anyway that's all from me for now, lets hope we have lots of bids on the donated week to raise money for the Gap dogs.
Catch you later, Waj x

Hello Waj,
You have lots of snow but underneath your house looks well tidy...not sure our mum would want to take pics like that unless it was a Wednesday and aunty Loraine has been here to clean...
If aunty Janet has a fruit orchard you could have some free range pigs to eat the wind falls!!
The house looks so fantastic can't wait till we visit again and maybe one day we'll stay there.
Lots of love from Grace and Paddy

HI Waljan,
Your pictures are beautiful. It's so green there!!! We live in a brownish sort of place right now.
The house is super too. Do you get the run of it? My mom tried to keep me out of a room or two....it didn't last long. :)
