Hello from Donna.

Hello, this is me and my name is now Donna amongst others, I am also known as Donna Kebab, Miss Kebab, Mix Kebab and Donna Doobags, you get the picture! I didn’t always have a name but I will tell you how I came to live at Little Dumpledale.
I was born on a farm in Brongest some miles north of where I live now. My brothers, sisters and I lived in a wire pen in the farmyard of a dairy farm. My Mother fed us all with milk until we all got too big to feed, then our humans fed us, we were quite large puppies!
My Mother told us all we were going to be “working” dogs which meant we have to chase and catch things and live in the farmyard like she did, chained to her wooden kennel during the day and taken out at night. She told us that our father was a big hairy dog called a Deerhound and we were to be good puppies and do what our humans told us.
We lived all together for the first three months, sometimes it rained in on us so we were wet and sometimes it was cold but we all cuddled up and kept each other warm and played together. Then one day someone fetched one of my sisters and took her away, then my other sister went too and I was left with my four brothers. It wasn’t too bad but they did pick on me a bit as I was the only girl!
Then one day a tall man came to see us and spent some time with us all in the pen. He talked nicely to me and said he would love to take me home as I looked just like another bitch he had some time ago, called Tally, but it was not to be, as my humans had told him that I already had a home to go to. He finally picked my favourite brother and took him away and that night I was sad.
I couldn’t be sad for too long however, as my remaining brothers were still there to play and fight with. Then just a week later life changed forever as the nice man who had taken my brother came back for me! The other person who had said they wanted me had changed their mind, so my humans had phoned and asked him if he wanted me too and he did!
I travelled in the car for the first time and wasn’t sick and how excited was I to be reunited with my brother, now called Blitzen which is apparently the name of a reindeer, so I was to be called Donna (another reindeer) but with a lady’s spelling! This began the succession of names as above! I don’t know what reindeer are, but Mr P says that they are big and hairy.
When I arrived Blitz told me he sleeps now on a dog bed by the side of the “human bed” which for humans is something very comfortable and a lot nicer than our straw in the farmyard. On his first night he slept between his new Mum and Dad in the “human bed”. I was very excited as to whether I too would sleep in this “bed”.
Anyway before the night came I had to meet the rest of the gang. Blitz introduced me to Mr Podge, Waljan, Waj or Mr P as he is known. As you can see multiple names are common in the pack. He was a bit overwhelming as he is very big and hairy and Blitz told me he wasn’t that keen on puppies, but he has got used to us since and now after six weeks is actually playing with us.Here is Mr P himself...........
Then there was Kishka the husky, aka Kish or Kishka Lou, who tolerates us, but is not up for playing yet.
The old ladies of the pack are Faith, or Faith the Wraith, the whippet. Blitz tells me is quite poorly and we are not to mention the lump on her side. Blitz likes Faith and spends a lot of time with her, she tells him of all her exploits as a puppy. Here she is out on a dogrun recently.......
and sharing a bed with Blitz..................................
The other old lady is Poppy, who also gets called Poppy-doo and Poppy the puppy, even though she’s twelve years old! She likes to pinch our toys and growl menacingly at us, even though she so small she can fit under my legs and I’m only 17 weeks old! Poppy with OUR toys................................
The two youngest dogs are Lucy who is also Luce. Lulu, Lulu Belle, Putrid Pugh (also rhymes with Lucy Lou)and Tatia for some reason? Then there’s Phoebe aka Phoebe Beebee, confusing isn’t it?
Phoebe looks very much like me and Lucy loves her bed!
Phoebe................................
and Lucy Lu................................................
Anyway I soon got used to "Donna come", "Donna do wees" as I am very clever and Blitz and I have become virtually housetrained within a very short time.

Soooo, as Mr Podge says, to bed and I was lifted up and put on this vast expanse of “bed” where the humans sleep. It was nearly as big as the pen that all seven of us puppies lived in. Anyway, after all the excitement of the day I soon dropped off to sleep knowing that my new Mum, Dad and Blitz were nearby. Since I have arrived I have been out on walks around the field, met the resident cat, duck, chickens and horses.
I have been taught lead walking and Blitz and I enjoyed our first visit to what they call “the beach” where there is a lot of soft stuff called sand and running water called “the sea”. Mum took some photo’s on the beach where I am playing queen of the Castle and chasing Blitz around! Dad climbs the rock.....................
Whatever dad can do we can do better! Can you spot us camouflaged on the rock?
We did some chasing games....................................
Then stop for a scratch..........................................
a play in the sea....................................................
Life is good......................................................
We have not all been good, as I did get onto the table last week, doing what they call “counter surfing” and Blitz and I have helped Dad with the paper shredding, but after all we are still puppies!
Toilet roll goes so much further in pieces..................................................
Mum says Blitz looks just like Mr. P when he first arrived as a puppy and he follows him about like a mini me, he is now also known now as Mr. B! All in all I think we both have landed on our paws and we look forward to more exciting goings on on the farm and helping Mr P with his blog.
Love from
